“Over the years I have always liked the Japanese brand COMME des GARCONS, they don’t conform.”
What changes do you see happening in 2012 for fashion and art?
“I think because of what the economy is going through, the profits will be better, I do not see anything specific happening. I think that some magazines are going to deteriorate, somewhat of a mid-life crisis”
What is the inspiration behind Jimon Magazine, and what compelled you to launch Jimon Mag?
“I always believed Los Angles needed a magazine that reflected its pool of artists, so I combined what inspires me from a few magazines that I liked (Numero, 10, French, Purple, and Acne) and created a publication that reflects me and my inspirations which is Jimon Magazine”
What makes Jimon Magazine Unique? (What sets it apart from the rest)
“The quality, the size, and the layout. We do not sacrifice the content for any reason. We do not sell ourselves in any sense.”
What can we expect from Jimon Magazine and Jimon in the next few years?
“We are going to try to grow and have a better magazine and include a plethora of artists from underground to well-known. I get a lot of inquiries and I include artists that have a vision which resonates with Jimon Mag.”
What advice do you have for fashion enthusiasts around the world?
